?| From Genesis. Zaphōeim (Gen 36:43): a country of the chiefs of Edom, in what is now Gebalēnē.

?| From Numbers and Deuteronomy. Zoob (Num 21:14): "Therefore it is said in a book: The war of the Lord set Zoob on fire, and the torrents of Arnon." A city in the Amorite's country, lying on the Arnon. Zephrōna (Num 34:9): the northern boundary of Judaea. Zared (Deut 2:13): the ravine of Zared, in a part of the desert.

?| From Joshua. Zeiph (Jos 15:24): of the tribe of Judah. Zanaoua (Jos 15:56): of the tribe of Judah. Even now there is, in the territory of Eleutheropolis, <as one goes to Aelia, a village called Zanoua. Ziph (Jos 15:55): of the tribe of Judah. It is now a village in the Daroma, in the territory of Eleutheropolis,> near Hebron, eight miles to the east, where David hid.

?| Of Kingdoms. Zeib (1 Sam 23:14): the "parched mountain" of Zeib, on which David stayed; beside it lies Chermala, which is interpreted Carmel. It is still so called even now, a village of Jews, the home of Nabal the Carmelite. One of the sons of Caleb was also called Zeib, as in Chronicles. Zogera (Jer 48:34): in Jeremiah, a city of Moab. It is now called Zoora, also Sigōr, one of the five cities of Sodom. Zēb (Jer 49:4): in Jeremiah, a city of Amman. There is now a village Zia, about fifteen miles west of Philadelphia. Zōeleth (1 Kgs 1:9): a stone so called, at which Adōnias sacrifices, "near [….]"
