?| From the Pentateuch.> On (Exod 1:11): "<which> is Heliopolis." A <city> which the sons of Israel also built, according to the Seventy. The Hebrew does not have this, and rightly, for the city existed before the sons of Israel came in, and the father of Asennek was its priest. Or (Num 20:22, 28): the mountain on which Aaron dies, near the city of Petra; on it the rock that flowed with water in the time of Moses is still pointed out today. Oboth (Num 21:10): a station of the sons of Israel in the desert.

?| From Joshua and Kingdoms. Osa (Josh 19:29): of the lot of Asher. Oram (Josh 19:38): of the lot of Naphtali. Opheir (1 Kings 9:28): from which gold was brought to Solomon, in Kingdoms. One of the descendants of Eber was also named Oupheir; Josephus records that his sons settled "from the river Cophen, of India, and the Seria next to it," and it is reasonable that the country took its name from him. On (Hos 10:5): a city of Samaria. The Hebrew has Aun. Aquila and Symmachus: of the useless; Theodotion: of unrighteousness. Olo (Jer 48:21): a priestly city. Oronaeim (Jer 48:34): a city of Moab, in Jeremiah. [The Latin version:] On the Pentateuch. On: a city in Egypt, called in Greek Heliopolis, that is, city of the sun, which the sons of Israel built, as the Seventy translators suppose. It is not, however, in the Hebrew volumes, and rightly, since the city had already been built before Jacob entered Egypt; it also had as its priest Petefres, the father of Asennec. Or: the mountain on which Aaron died, near the city of Petra, where to the present day the rock is shown which Moses struck and gave water to the people. Oboth: a camp of the sons of Israel in the desert. On Joshua and the Books of Kingdoms. Osa: in the tribe of Asher. Oram: in the tribe of Naphtali. Ofir: from which, as we read in the Books of Kingdoms, gold was brought to Solomon. There was also one of the descendants of Eber named Ofir; Josephus relates that people sprung from his stock settled from the river Cofen as far as the region of India called Ieria, and from him, I think, the region took its name. On: a city of Samaria, for which the Hebrew has Aun, which Aquila and Symmachus translate "useless," Theodotion "iniquity." Ocho: a priestly city. Oronaim: a city of the Moabites, as is written in Jeremiah.
