and oxen, and lambs from the sheep, and kids from the goats;
and it will break open sweet springs of white milk;
and cities will overflow with abundance, and the farmland grow fertile,
and there will be no sword upon the earth, nor battle-din;
no longer will the deep-groaning earth be shaken;
there will be no war, nor will drought still come upon the land,
no famine, nor hail that ravages the crops;
but there will be great peace over all the earth,
and king will hold friendship with king, right down to the close
of the age, and a common law throughout all the earth
the Immortal will bring to fulfillment for men, in the starry heaven,
for all that wretched mortals have done.
For he alone is God, and none exists beside him;
he himself will burn with fire the race of harsh men.
But you, hastening the thoughts within your breasts,
flee lawless worship, and serve the Living One;
guard against adultery and indiscriminate union with males;
rear your own offspring and do not murder it;
for the Immortal will be angered against whoever transgresses these things.
And then indeed he will raise up a kingdom for all ages
over all mankind, the holy law which once he gave
to the pious, to all of these he vowed he would unlock the earth
and the world and the gates of the blessed and every joy,
and immortal mind and everlasting gladness.
And from every land they will bring frankincense and gifts to the house
of the great God; and there will be no other
house among men for those yet to be born to learn of,
but only the one which God gave to faithful men to honor.
[For mortals will call him son of the great God,]
and every track across the plain and the rugged hills
and the towering mountains and the wild waves of the sea
will become easy to walk and easy to sail in those days;
for all peace of good things comes upon the earth;
the prophets of the great God will take away the sword;
for they themselves will be judges of mortals, and righteous kings.
There will indeed be just wealth among men;
for this is the judgment and the rule of the great God.
Rejoice, O maiden, and exult; for to you he has given
the gladness of the age, he who founded heaven and earth.
He will dwell in you; and you will have unfailing light;
and wolves and lambs will feed together on the mountains
on grass, and leopards will graze together with kids;
roving bears will lodge together with calves;
the flesh-eating lion will eat straw at the manger
like an ox; and quite little children will lead them
with cords; for he will make the beasts harmless upon the earth.
Serpents will sleep together with infants and asps,
and will do them no harm; for the hand of God will be upon them.
And I will tell you a sign, very clear, so that you may understand,
when indeed the end of all things comes to pass upon the earth.
