?| From Genesis. Ēlath (Gen 36:41): a country of the chiefs of Edom and a city of Esau, ten miles east of Petra. City of Heroes (Gen 46:28f.): in Egypt, where Joseph met his father. Heliopolis (Gen 41:45): a city in Egypt, which the Hebrew calls On, whose priest Petephrēs is said to have been. It occurs in Ezekiel too. Ēthām (Ex 13:20): a stopping place of the sons of Israel in the desert, also called Bouthan.
?| From Joshua. Ēngannim (Jos 15:34): of the tribe of Judah. It is now near Bethel. Ēnaim (Jos 15:34): of the tribe of Judah. There is now a village Bēthenim near the terebinth. Ēndōr (Jos 17:11): of the tribe of Manasseh, where the medium lived. Aendōr is also listed above. It is near Nain, where Christ raised the widow's son, in the region of Scythopolis. Ēngannei (Jos 19:21): of the lot of Issachar, a city set apart for the Levites. Another village too, Ēnganna, is said to be near Gerasa in Peraea. Ēnada (Jos 19:21): of the lot of Issachar. It lies beside the Dead Sea, to the west. Ēmath (2 Sam 8:9): a country of foreigners; but according to Jeremiah, a city of Damascus. Ēnan (Ezek 47:17, 19): "a boundary of Damascus," as Ezekiel says, from "Thaiman and Phoinikōn"; but the other translators have Thamar.
